Why aren't Moths spawning in Terraria? ›

Based on the experiences of Terraria randomizer players, it has been determined that while Mothron only requires Plantera being defeated to spawn, it will not drop items until all three mechanical bosses have been defeated. This can be confirmed in the vanilla game using TEdit.

Terraria. Moths appear as rare enemies in Terraria, where they have a low chance of spawning in the Underground Jungle during Hardmode.

It has a 1/2 (50%) chance of being dropped by Moths in the Underground Jungle. Mobile version, at least one mechanical boss must be defeated before it will drop.

As of version 1.4.1, Mothron only spawns after Plantera has been defeated, but it will not drop any items until after all three mechanical bosses have also been defeated in the current world.

Mothron is a powerful flying Enemy that spawns during the Solar Eclipse event and passes through Blocks. It can only spawn after: The Mech Bosses have been defeated, Plantera has been defeated. Mothron attacks by lunging at the player.

The rarest item to drop is the Slime Staff, since it has a 1/10000 chance to drop from Slimes. However, there used to be an even rarer item, the Uzi, which had a 1/80000 drop chance from Angry Trappers.

While the Nymph is one of the rarest enemies in Terraria, in reality, she spawns more frequently than is initially apparent. She is usually missed due to her passive and stationary behavior: she often remains in dark areas, without moving to attack players or making any sounds, unlike what most enemies would do.

Plant a diversity of host and nectar plants and you can attract and support a wide range of moths, including those that act as critical pollinators as well as those that act as food for other wildlife and food for our souls!

The spawn rate of Butterflies/Stinkbugs are set to a random value at every dusk (7:30 PM), or each time the world is loaded, making them spawn at different amounts every day. They will be more common in Celebrationmk10(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions) worlds.
