Trump was booked and released after a 20-minute process, and his mugshot was taken, NBC News reported. He later decried the charges at the airport, saying he had a right to challenge the election. Trump was listed on the booking sheet as being 6 foot 3 inches tall and 215 pounds with blue eyes and “blond or strawberry” hair.

Fulton County has already released mugshots of Trump’s former lawyers Rudy Giuliani, Jenna Ellis, John Eastman, and Sidney Powell, and bail bondsman Scott Hall, in the sweeping racketeering indictment filed by District Attorney Fani Willis. Ellis made her smiling mugshot her profile picture on “X.”

Before the real mugshot was released, multiple fake mugshots of Trump circulated on social media. Trump opponents have long awaited a Donald Trump mugshot; New York Magazine reported that it will immediately become “legendary.”
One fake mugshot widely circulated on X showed him wearing the wrong color tie. The hashtag #Trumpmugshot was trending on X.

Trump Criticized the Arrest After the Mugshot Was Taken, Calling It Election Interference
BREAKING: Trump addresses reporters after his arrest in Fulton County, GA:
“We did nothing wrong at all. We should have every single right to challenge an election that we think is dishonest. And we think it’s very dishonest.”
Trump has criticized the indictment, calling it election interference. “NOBODY HAS EVER FOUGHT FOR ELECTION INTEGRITY LIKE PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP. Trump addressed reporters at the airport in Georgia after the mugshot was taken, saying he had done nothing wrong and had a right to challenge the election results. “This is a very sad day for America,” he said, repeating that he believed the election was “rigged.” He said that Democrats had challenged election results in the past.
“What has taken place here is a travesty of justice. We did nothing wrong. I did nothing wrong,” he said.

According to CNN, Steven Sadow, a new attorney working for Trump, accompanied him to the Fulton County Jail.
Sadow is “currently waiting at the airport in Atlanta and will ride in the former president’s motorcade to the jail,” CNN reported on the afternoon of August 24, 2023. However, CNN later reported that he was, in fact, booked and released.

According to his website, Sadow is a Georgia-based lawyer described as “Special Counsel for White Collar and High Profile Defense.”

According to CNN, the U.S. Department of Justice previously announced a civil rights investigation into the Fulton County Jail after accusations of “dilapidated and unsanitary conditions” as well as “violence against detainees.”
The Sheriff Said He Would Follow ‘Our Normal Practices’

Fulton County Sheriff Pat Labat previously said that Trump would be treated like any other defendant, which would include taking his fingerprints and mugshot, according to WSBTV.
“Unless somebody tells me differently, we are following our normal practices, and so it doesn’t matter your status, we’ll have a mugshot ready for you,” Labat said, according to the television station.

According to CNN, Willis gave Trump and the other co-defendants until Friday, August 25, 2023, to turn themselves in. According to New York Magazine, although a mugshot was not taken of Trump in his previous arraignments, the Trump campaign sold merchandise with a fake mugshot of Trump.
Trump blasted the DA for violent crime in Atlanta the same day he was arrested.
“Why is there so much MURDER in Atlanta? Why is there so much Violent Crime? People are afraid to go outside to buy a loaf of bread! One big reason is that failed District Attorney, Fani Willis, who is campaigning and fundraising off ‘get Trump’ (much like the others!), doesn’t have the Time, Money, or Interest to go after the real criminals, even the REALLY Violent ones, that are destroying Atlanta, and its once beautiful culture and way of life. This is yet another SAD DAY IN AMERICA!” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
