Here are 10 facts about My Hero Academia's Eijiro Kirishima that you probably didn't know.
10 His Inspiration
Eijiro Kirishima is one of the most boisterous characters in the series. As such, his role model is someone who has similar qualities. According to Eijiro Kirishima, the Hero he looks up to is Crimson Riot. Kirishima doesn't just get his own hero name from Crimson Riot, but his personal values as well.
This is further backed up by the fact that Kirishima often likes things with a burning passion, and feels the need to express his emotions vehemently every time. He's also moved very with bravery and manliness rather easily, which makes it easier to see why he's such a big fan of Crimson Riot.
9 His Hero Name
Like every other student in his class, Kirishima has chosen a hero name for himself which he seems to be very proud of. Drawing inspiration from his idol, Crimson Riot, Eijiro Kirishima has chosen a rather similar name for himself as well in 'Sturdy Hero: Red Riot'.
The name pays homage to his Quirk, known as Hardening, which can also mean sturdy. At the same time, it is a callback to Eijiro Kirishima's favorite Hero, Crimson Riot.
8 His Quirk
Eijiro Kirishima possesses a Quirk known as Hardening. This Quirk grants him the power to harden and sharpen his body at will. Although its powers have been shown to be more than decent, Kirishima doesn't hold it in high regard. According to him, Hardening isn't a flashy Quirk at all. In fact, at one point, he believed this Quirk to be unfit for a Pro Hero.

However, after witnessing the incredible ability offered by the Hardening Quirk, it is safe to say that whatever Kirishima once believed isn't true at all. On the contrary, he's one of the brightest Hero aspirants in the entire series right now.
7 Self-esteem
Although Eijiro appears to be a boisterous and outgoing kid, that wasn't always the case with him. Prior to joining U.A High School, Kirishima actually had very low self-esteem, and he considered himself to be a dull person incapable of becoming a strong Hero.
However, due to the effort that he put in, Kirishima was successfully able to transform himself completely and become the person we know he is today. Upon joining U.A, he adopted a tough and outlandish identity, and thankfully, that's worked out for him pretty well.
6 Relationship With Bakugo
Being Bakugo Katsuki's classmate, Kirishima is someone Bakugo, naturally, considers a rival. While that's the case with nearly every other classmate of Bakugo, things are slightly different when it comes to Kirishima. Being the fiery guy that he is, Kirishima is the only known person in the class who is able to look Bakugo in the eye as an equal.
Even though Midoriya is the one who challenges Bakugo for the spot of the Number One Hero, it is Kirishima who shares this special relationship with him and makes him a worthy rival of Bakugo Katsuki in the process.
5 His Skill
Thanks to his Hardening Quirk and the constant effort that he puts in, Eijiro Kirishima was able to pass the U.A Entrance Test with flying colors, taking the second spot in the process. Over the course of time, he's gotten significantly better at using his Quirk, making him one of his class's strongest students, and someone worthy of standing next to Bakugo, Midoriya, and Todoroki.
His fighting style is also very unique as he's able to charge directly at the enemy without much thought. This is largely because Kirishima has a Quirk that lets him tank huge amounts of damage while receiving little to no injuries in the process.
4 His Weakness
Although Kirishima's Quirk lets him take a heavy beating, the very same thing is his weakness as well. When under a barrage of attacks, Kirishima's Quirk slowly loses its effectiveness, especially when the attacks that he's facing are strong. If hit with enough power, the barrier that his Quirk offers will be broken through, and slowly, the Quirk will start fading away.

In the process, Eijiro Kirishima starts to lose his stamina and ultimately, the Quirk is deactivated. This was apparent from his fight against Rappa of the Shie Hassaikai during the Overhaul arc of the My Hero Academia series.
3 His Training
To improve his durability and strengthen his Quirk even further, Eijiro Kirishima often trains with Mashirao Ojiro, one of his classmates. Using his powerful tail, Ojiro delivers hits to Kirishima, absorbing the force of which helps him improve the power of his Hardening Quirk.
Furthermore, Kirishima could also possibly train with Bakugo Katsuki in the future, and just like with Ojiro, Kirishima can improve his durability further by tanking Bakugo's explosions and increase the strength of his Quirk.
2 The Resistance Offered By His Quirk
Contrary to what Kirishima once believed, his Quirk is actually very effective in dealing with most villains, as evident from the events of the Shie Hassaikai arc. What's more, having the Hardening Quirk active makes Kirishima resistant to heat-based attacks, such as Todoroki's flames, and Shockwave based attacks as well.
This makes Kirishima suited to dealing with Villains, such as Dabi, who rely on heat-based abilities. With enough training, Kirishima can heighten his resistance to the said powers and get stronger in the process.
1 Red Riot Unbreakable
After having trained rigorously, Kirishima has taken the powers of his Quirk to the next level, known as Red Riot Unbreakable. This form was first shown during the Shie Hassaikai arc. When unleashed, Red Riot Unbreakable gives Kirishima a monstrous, albeit cool, appearance and turns his entire body rugged.
In this form, his defense and offense are boosted to extremely high levels, making him nearly impossible to deal with. However, the downside of this power is that it can only be maintained for about 40 seconds, after which the form dissipates.
