Directions:

From I-295:

Take Exit 38 A to Pole Green Road exit (Route 627).

Continue East on Pole Green Road for 3.5 miles.

Turn left onto Pole Green Park Lane.

Continue on Pole Green Park Lane for about mile to park entrance.

From I-95 South:

Follow I-95 North to I-64 East (Exit 75) toward Norfolk/RIC Airport.

Continue on I-64 East for 1.4 miles until you reach US 360 East (Exit 192).

Follow 360 East (Mechanicsville Turnpike)for 8.4 miles.

Turn left onto Walnut Grove Road.

Follow Walnut Grove for 0.8 miles.

Turn left onto Pole Green Road.

Follow Pole Green Road for 0.4 miles.

Turn right onto Pole Green Park Lane.

Follow Pole Green Park Lane for 1/2 mile to park entrance

From I-95 North:

Follow I-95 South to I-295 South (Exit 84A) on the left toward RockyMount, NC.

Follow I-295 South for 5.5 miles until you reach Exit 38A (continue with directions listed above "from I-295").

From Hampton Roads/Williamsburg Area (I-64 West):

Follow I-64 West to I-295 North (Exit 200) toward Washington.

Follow I-295 North for 10.3 miles until you reach Exit 38A (continue with directions listed above "from I-295").

From Charlottesville Area (I-64 East):

Follow I-64 East to I-295 South (Exit 177)toward Washington/Norfolk.

Follow I-295 South for 14.7 miles until you reach Exit 38A (continue with directions listed above "from I-295").

Course Description:The course is a very special one that is only used for this invitational and elite college races such as the Atlantic 10 Conference meet. It is made for PR's and on grass and some dirt. It has a great atmosphere as the course goes around our infield area that usually has well over a thousand people watching and cheering at any point!

Divisions:

Elite (Girls/Boys) - Top 25 Ranked Teams

Emerging Elite (Girls/Boys) - Next Top 25 Ranked Teams

Large Schools (Girls/Boys) - Remaining Varsity Teams 4A-6A or private schools/out of state teams enrollment over 1000

Small Schools (Girls/Boys) - Remaining Varsity Teams 3A-4A or private schools/out of state teams enrollment under 1000

Middle School (Girls/Boys) - 1 race per gender

JV (Girls/Boys) - There are JV races for both morning and afternoon sessions. Your JV runners will run in the JV race that is in the same session as your varsity team has been placed in.

NOTE: Top 25 ranked teams chosen based off meet management's discretion will be placed in elite varsity division races. Next top 10-15 ranked teams will be placed in the morning emerging elite division race along with other teams who the other gender varsity team qualified for the elite race as well as other schools with legitimate schedule conflicts. The remaining full teams will be placed in the afternoon varsity divisions. Select top ranked individuals may also be placed in the elite varsity race without their team who were not selected for the elite race. List of teams in each division and JV divisions will be posted on MileStat.com on Monday, October 10th.

School Limits:

We will be accepting the first 100 high schools who submit a $100 deposit (or pay full entry fee or greater than $100) to reserve their spot into the meet. This deposit will be credited to your total amount. The remaining difference of final entry fee total must be paid prior or by the day of the meet.

Home Schooled Athletes:Since this meet is sanctioned beyond Virginia borders for other states, no home schooled athletes or home school teams can compete in the high school sanctioned races of the meet. However, such athletes can run in the open 5K race or younger athletes can also race in the middle school division which sanction regulations do not apply to.

Individual Entries:High school coaches may enter individuals instead of their full squad into this event. Only high school coaches and no athlete or parent can enter an individual athlete into the meet to compete. Girls individuals with 5K best times under 20 minutes may run in the elite race, while boys individuals with 5K best times under 17 minutes may run in the elite race. All other individuals above those times can jump in any other race that suits them best. Starting boxes are provided on the far right to individuals not with full teams in each race.

Race Limitations:

8 runners per team in each varsity race to allow teams to evaluate their top 7 lineups before championship season. Unlimited runners per team in JV, freshmen and middle school races.

Middle School Division - $10 per runner entered. $200 max per school.

Open Division - $15 per individual entered.

How do I register for a meet?

1. Login or Register - You must have a user name and password for Milesplit. To get that, if you don't have one, click register in the top right gray MileSplt bar directly under the Universal Sports logo and search box.

2. Claim Your Team - If you haven't already set this up, you must be registered as a coach or team administrator to register for a meet In order to get set up, you go to your team page, and at the top right, click Claim This Team. Choose either that you want to be a coach or team admin. Follow the instructions on that page. Apply and submit. Once you do that and are approved (usually within a few hours), you will receive a confirmation email and you'll be set to go to the next step.

3. Update Your Roster - If your team's roster is not already up to date, now is a good time to get any corrections made and add any additional athletes to it. Go to your team page, login, and you will see button that says "Team Administration" to the right of your team's name. Click that and then click roster on left hand toolbar. Enter or update your roster, adding any new athletes. To move graduated athletes to Alumni, simply add their graduation year and hit save.

4. Enter the Meet - Go to the season calendar and click on the green meet registration button of the meet you want to enter. Read and follow the instructions carefully and fill out the form completely. Once entered you'll see all of the available events/races listed out. To put your athletes into these events/races click the "Edit Entries" link by the event. On the following page, check the athletes you want in the race (putting in seed times if applicable), and click the save button at the bottom. Do this for each event/race. You will be able to change and update these entries until the entry deadline.

Entry Deadline:

Entries will close online at midnight on Sunday, October 9th. All entries and team roster submissions must be done online. NO EXCEPTIONS! Make sure that you have selected all runners from your roster who will be competing on race day by this deadline.

Check-In:All athletes and teams should report to their starting boxes 15 minutes prior to their race is scheduled to begin.

Awards:Top 3 teams receive trophies in elite race.

Top 2 teams receive trophies in emerging elite, large schools varsity, small schools varsity, JV, middle school

Top 20 individual finishers in varsity races will receive medals

Top 15 individual finishers in JV & middle school races receive medals.

First place individual in each race receives medal AND bobblehead runner trophy.

T-Shirts:Meet T-Shirts will be sold on-site.

Concession:A concession stand run and food trucks will be present and available selling food and drink.

Parking:There is NO fee for parking at Pole Green Park! There will be parking attendants directing traffic.Use the below as a map guide for parking. There will be meet officials directing buses and spectators to specific areas to park. Please be aware that there will be other sporting events going on at the same time at Pole Green Park on the soccer/football fields and softball fields, so some of these lots will be filled or utilized by those people attending those events as well but the parking lots closest to the XC course will be virtually all those attending the XC meet.

Trainer & EMS on-site:We will have a certified trainer and EMS unit on-site for any injuries or emergencies. Please bring your own athletic tape. We will have a sweeping gator utility vehicle in every race to pick up any distressed or injured runners on the course.

Keep dogs at home:Dogs have no place at THIS cross country meet. One year someone let loose their greyhound who ended up jumping into one of the races and could have taken out and injured some runners. Keep the hounds at home.

DJ & Music:We will have a DJ on-site at this year's meet providing pump-up music to create an even better meet atmosphere.

Trash:Please have your athletes police their area and make sure no trash is left when your team is leaving the park. Trash bags are available in your packet and extras will be available at the team packet pick-up table. We are fortunate to have this venue to host this event and we need to make sure we keep this beautiful park clean!
