In June 1998, she joined NBC News and at this time she used her last name Jansing professionally rather than her maiden name of Kapostasy which she had used previously. Since then, she has been a substitute anchor forThe Today Show and the Sunday version ofNBC Nightly News and reported for MSNBC. she relocated toLos Angeles IN 2008, where she worked as a field reporter for two years, and later in 2010, she returned as an anchor.

Before that, she served as a correspondent and substitute anchor and as the co-anchor of Jansing and Company alongside Richard Lui which aired on MSNBC at 10 am. When she anchored the Jansing & Company news show on MSNBC, she was able to locate some of the largest stories of our time including coverage of Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans, the shooting tragedies in Newtown, Colorado, the Olympic Games in Torino, hurricane Katrina in New Orleans, and the nuclear crisis in Japan. On June 13, 2014, when she became NBC’s Senior White House Correspondent the Jansing and Company show came to an end.

Furthermore, she was with Pope John Paul II during his historic visit to Israel and anchored MSNBC’s coverage from Rome for his funeral as well as the elections of Pope Francis and Pope Benedict. She was also present at the royal wedding and the birth of Prince George in Landon.
